The kanban board provides a visual way to track your job applications through different stages. This guide explains how to use it effectively.

Best Practices
Kanban Board Tips
- • Review your board daily to stay on top of applications
- • Move jobs promptly when status changes
- • Keep the "Applied" column organized - it can get large
- • Use the board to identify bottlenecks in your pipeline
- • Archive old jobs to keep the board focused on active applications
Understanding Your Pipeline
Your kanban board helps you understand:
- Application Volume: How many jobs you're applying to
- Response Rate: How many applications lead to interviews
- Conversion Rate: How many interviews lead to offers
- Pipeline Health: Whether you have enough opportunities at each stage
Healthy Pipeline
A healthy pipeline typically has: many jobs in "Applied," several in "Interview," and a few in "Offer." If your "Applied" column is empty, you need to apply to more jobs. If interviews aren't converting, work on your interview skills.
