1. Introduction
Resumedit is a service of MundusWeb LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company (“MundusWeb,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). “Resumedit” is a trade name of MundusWeb LLC, and MundusWeb LLC is the company responsible for the personal information described here.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information (name, email address, password)
- Resume data and content you upload or create
- Job application information and tracking data
- Cover letters and related documents
- Payment information (processed securely through Stripe)
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Usage data and analytics
- Device information and browser type
- IP address and location data
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies
2.3 How Long We Keep It
We keep your account information, resumes, cover letters, and job records for as long as your account is open, and we delete them when you delete your account. See Section 6 and our Security Policy for what deletion covers and what outlives it. Payment and transaction records are kept for seven years because tax and chargeback rules require it. Error and performance logs are kept for up to 30 days. Cookie preference records expire after 6 months where the law requires us to ask permission first, and after 1 year everywhere else.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Process your transactions and manage your account
- Send you service-related communications
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your resumes, cover letters, job descriptions, or other content you create to train artificial intelligence models, ours or anyone else's. Our AI providers process your content only to return a result to you and are contractually prohibited from training on it. This is also stated in Section 7 of our Terms of Service.
4. Data Storage and Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Your information is stored securely using third-party services (Supabase) that implement security best practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information for money.
Advertising and measurement on our public pages. On our public marketing pages we use Google Analytics 4 for usage measurement, and Google advertising tags delivered through Google Tag Manager. Those advertising tags can read your device identifiers and the pages you visit here, and they let Google show you our ads elsewhere and tell us which ads worked. Under California law and several other state laws this counts as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, even though no money changes hands, and you have the right to stop it.
We do not use Meta, Facebook, or LinkedIn advertising tags. If we add an advertising partner, we will update this Section before turning it on.
How to stop it. Choose Reject All, or switch off Advertising in Your Privacy Choices in the footer, or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser. We honour GPC automatically, for every visitor, wherever you are. Our Cookie Policy explains the whole mechanism, including what runs by default where you live.
What you create stays with you. These advertising tags do not run on your account pages, or on any page showing your resumes, your cover letters or your job records. Nothing you create in Resumedit is shared with an advertiser or a data broker, and no advertiser receives the contents of a resume, a cover letter, or a job application.
Apart from that, we share your information only:
- With the service providers listed in Section 8, to run the Service
- When the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
- With your explicit consent
6. Your Rights and How to Exercise Them
You have the right to:
- Access and review your personal data
- Receive a copy of your data
- Update or correct your information
- Delete your account and data
- Opt out of certain communications
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
6.1 What You Can Do Yourself
You can update your account details and delete your account, along with everything linked to it, from your account settings at any time. You can change your cookie and advertising choices from Your Privacy Choices in the footer.
6.2 Requesting a Copy of Your Data
There is no self-serve export yet, so we handle these requests by hand. Email legal@resumedit.com from the address on your account and we will send you a machine-readable copy of your account record, resumes, cover letters, job records, and contacts within 45 days. If we need more time we will tell you why, and take no more than a further 45 days.
6.3 Verification, Agents, and Appeals
To protect your data we verify that a request comes from you. Emailing from the address on your account is normally enough. If we cannot match the request to an account, we may ask you for more information, which we use only to verify the request. An authorised agent may act for you if you give them written permission and we can verify it with you.
If we refuse a request, we will tell you why, and you may appeal by replying to that message. We will respond to an appeal within 45 days.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience, analyze usage, and assist with authentication. Our Cookie Policy sets out every category, what runs by default where you live, and how to change it. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
8. Service Providers and AI Processing
We share personal information with the following providers, each only to the extent needed to run the Service:
- OpenAI: Processes resume content, job descriptions, and cover letter inputs to generate AI results. Retained by OpenAI only as needed to return the result. Not used to train models.
- Supabase: Hosts our database and file storage. Holds your account, resumes, cover letters, and job records.
- Stripe: Processes payments. Stripe holds your payment card details; we never see or store a card number.
- Google: Sign-in with Google (authentication), Google Analytics 4 for website usage measurement, and Google Tag Manager, which delivers the advertising and measurement tags described in Section 5 on our public pages.
- Vercel: Hosts and serves the application, and provides cookie-free traffic measurement.
- Datadog: Receives application error logs and performance data used to keep the Service running.
- Resend: Sends transactional email such as verification, receipts, and digests.
- Cloudflare: Runs the Turnstile bot check when you create an account.
Each provider processes your information under its own agreement with us and its own privacy policy. We do not permit any of them to use your information for their own purposes.
9. Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
